For the 3rd time in 2010, more than 100 Nigerians converged in New York as a body known as the Nigeria Peoples' Parliament In Diaspora (NPPID). The session was convened by the pro-democracy United States-based Nigeria Democratic Liberty Forum (NDLF), to provide the opportunity for Nigerians with diverse professional backgrounds to come together and fashion practical ways to ensure the emergence of an economically-developed and politically stable Nigeria. The theme of the event was "Nigeria at 50, Progress, Problems, and Prospect. The elected speaker was Dr. Okey Ndibe, Pastor Laolu Akande was the Deputy Speaker, Mr. George Komi was the Clerk, and Ms. Bukola Shonuga was the deputy Clerk.
Thanks for the video, although the backing track was unnecessary. I like what the dude said about cleaning up Nigeria's image abroad (USA I believe he said)- that's very important. The simple reality is that the average Nigerian (both abroad and home) is unprincipled, greedy, dishonest and a whole host of other unpleasant things.....we need to be the change we seek. GEJ isn't the one travelling with fake passports. OBJ isn't the one in internet cafes sending 419 emails nightly.
