Michael Galbraith, a teacher at Grover Washington Jr. Middle School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was surprised on October 18, 2007 with a $25,000 Milken Educator Award for being an outstanding teacher. Milken Family Foundation Executive Vice President Richard Sandler made the surprise announcement in a schoolwide assembly, with dignitaries including Pennsylvania Secretary of Education Dr. Gerald L. Zahorchak. Up to 80 outstanding educators nationwide will receive the Award this year. For more information, visit www.mff.org
