Olacak! (2010) is the name of a project in which a communal artpiece (a 30 meter long snake) was developed by Mathilde ter Heijne and 75 women of Kartal Kadın Ürünleri Pazarı (women's products market, Kartal, Istanbul). The project was developed to provide the market more publicity and costumers. The Foundation for the Support of Women's Work (FSWW), founded in 1986, aims to support women's efforts to be economically independent and to improve the quality of their lives in urban and rural communities in Turkey. It started a market for handmade products by women in Kartal, Istanbul, at the beginning of 2010. The snake, consisting of around 50 textile parts representing the handwork sold on the market, was marched through the city, starting in the outskirt Kartal and ending in the shopping and cultural district Beyoglu. A list with questions about the market and personal work-situation was handed out to all participating women to start a process of communication and reflection on the situation those women are living in. Based on the answers of the women the rap song Snake Power was composed by percussionist and rapsinger Monika Bulanda.
