Fanny Brice singing "When a Woman Loves a Man" from the early sound film "Be Yourself" (roughly the same plot as "Funny Girl" and based also on her relationship with Nick Arnstein). Helen Kane's cousin 'Babe' Kane does the Betty Boop impersonation, runs in the family. Cleaned from the Vitaphone disk recording of heavy noise. Fanny sounds like the missing link between Sophie Tucker and Bessie Smith on it.
