TAB AVAILABLE, READ ON...Computer game theme from "Ghosts and Goblins" written by Mark Cooksey for the Commodore 64 SID chip. He borrowed phrases from the likes of Frederic Chopin and in doing so creating one of the most memorable tunes in gaming history.

I started arranging this for acoustic guitar about 2 years ago; it is actually quite difficult to play - to keep the bassline and melody going requires unusual fingering that just doesn't feel normal. It should be played fast which doesn't help either. Overall the arrangement has come together really well...there is one part (during the hardest part to play) where it is physically impossible to resolve the bass and treble so the bass got simplified. Forgive me!

If you know the tune then you are a computer nerd from the 80's and you'll love it ;) If you don't know the tune I think you'll still enjoy it.

Apologies to my fellow perfectionists, I punched out 2 sections in the middle that had errors but otherwise left the rest intact, warts and all. It's funny you know, I find once I have performed it on youtube I start playing it better from there on!

Guitar: EM225C, raw audio from Maton AP4 pickup direct to onboard soundcard. Post processing included a bit of reverb and some graphic equalisation (bass up, mids down, highs up).

Note: the band "Press Play on Tape" perform an excellent version of this, check it out!

  • Sir, I am sorry. But I got a letter from Chuck Norris telling me to tell you he wants his power back.

    LOL!!

    Liked.

  • @bucketfan4life I did scare Chuck Norris when hiding in his closet the other night. But then I saw him doing push ups, only he stayed still and the earth went down, so I gave his power back :)

  • incredibly hard to play sick man

  • Yes; yes it is incredibly hard to play. I sure set myself up with this one - I still struggle with it, don't think I've ever played it clean from top to bottom ;)

    Thanks!
