the penguins were below .500 every year from 1979 - 1987, the flyers made 3 stanley cup final appearances in that span

his hits were flat out intent to injure and each one was illegal in several ways but that gets 1 game ...

but zolnierczyk throws a huge shoulder check and launches just before contact with no history and he gets 4 games? it was a hockey play, he just left his skates just before contact
