It irks me that the average person is ignorant of the fact the Angela Lansbury is a theater legend with 5 Tonys and has received three Oscar nominations for Supporting Actress: Gaslight, The Picture of Dorian Grey, and The Manchurian Candidate. Average folks only know her for Murder She Wrote and that she was Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast.

I have this London soundtrack and I love it! She possesses great confidence and control.

I saw her performance as Madame Rose on tour. She just blew everyone in the theater away. The ovation after "Rose's Turn" went on and on and on. She is truly one of the great Madame Rose's.

Actually, Angela and Rosalind Russell were the best in this role.

Her American accent is excellent. I don't hear any slips in this.

Patti is a loud, vulgar commoner. Cheers to Ethel and Angela [with Tyne a close third]

Fantastic! Angela, Ethel, and Bette are the best Madame Rose's.
What a wonderful retrospective. Angela is without question one of the greatest stars of this or any century. I was lucky enough to see her in "Mame" and "Sweeny Todd." Damn, but I missed some of the others. She is magnificent!!!
