The problem with cargo and large cars can be solved if trailer hitches were more common.
In Norway trailer hitches are commonplace, and cargo trailers are not uncommon. The possibility of use of cargo trailers reduces the need for large cargo place inside the car. Then more place is needed, you attach the trailer. In effect, you can by a smaller car.
You can get the UEV Kewet Vuddy with hitch, but not the Prius.... Go figure..
