It was about 3 hours 50 minutes into the journey when I shot this video. The scene depicts the limited express "Super Soya" No. 4 bound for Sapporo arriving at Asahikawa Station. We were originally scheduled to arrive at Sapporo Station at 21.50. However, because of a train accident somewhere on the JR Soya Main Line, we were delayed for approximately 18 minutes. As a result, we arrived at Sapporo at 22.08, 18 minutes behind schedule.
Asahikawa Station is the main railway station serving the city of Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan. It serves as an interchange station for the Furano Line, Hakodate Main Line, Sekihoku Main Line, and the Soya Main Line. The limited express "Super Kamui" originates and terminates in Asahikawa, whereas the limited express trains "Okhotsk", "Sarobetsu" and "Super Soya" make stop here. A new station building opened in October 2010.
All in all, it was an enjoyable ride on the "Super Soya" limited express between Sapporo and Wakkanai. I would gladly take this train to and from Wakkanai again whenever I have the opportunity to do so.
