A particularly challenging topic for many CCIE R/S and CCIE Voice candidates is the configuration of Quality of Service (QoS) on a Cisco Catalyst switch, specifically the 3560 for CCIE R/S candidates and the 3750 for CCIE Voice candidates. Fortunately, the QoS architectures of these switches are identical. So, this video, which seeks to simplify QoS theory and configuration topics, is applicable to both CCIE R/S and Voice candidates.

  • #0:25:48 802.1p is not an ability of the NIC, rather it is ability of the NIC OS driver

  • Wow thank you Kevin! I will need to come back to this video when I have time to sit entirely. I spent a good week trying to find info on 3750 buffers a few months ago. There isnt a great deal of information out there for these access switches. However small - medium businesses regard 3750s as high end enough for SAN connectivity. From what I have seen so far I do not think they are wholy suitable for frequent bursty traffic in busy environments, even if Dell state they are.

  • This is not easy, especially the nested policing concept. Good God!

  • Looong but good.
