I found this digital short on an old backup drive last week. I had always wanted to do a movie about a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream. It's a silly movie, yes, but I think Matt Prager gives a mesmerizing performance, and Jill Tanner's direction is simple and clean and uses natural light to give it a surreal look. Kyle McCollough is terrific, although he really isn't "acting," while Jenna Fischer showed incredible patience during an eight-hour shoot while actually adding some dimension to the otherwise thankless role of "Sleeping Wife." We shot the movie in one day in January 2000 using a first generation Canon XL1, and it was edited entirely on the first edition of iMovie. I wrote a dialogue-free script to avoid the hassle of sound recording, and if I remember correctly our budget was $173. So, a belated "thank you" to all involved in the production of "Wednesday Morning," and I hope you enjoy(ed) the movie.
