  • This is terrible instruction and demonstration.

Ferry gliding is the act of going from one side of the river to the other WITHOUT being pushed down stream.

Also she should be aiming for the top of the eddy (furthest point upstream in the eddy)

All aspiring kayakers dont listen to anything ExpertVillage say. Go out and find a decent kayaking instructor.

  • never new ferry gliding was so fun =P

  • when will these people learn how to explain what to do in layman's terms so beginner's can understand.

  • @ntilley88 Expert Village is notoriously unreliable. I don't know how they find so many ignorant people willing to make instructional videos.

  • You're demonstrating with a really stubby little kayak- are the techniques the same for a 12 footer (or longer)?

  • definitely want to start kayaking!!!

  • its interesting how short boats lack the hull speed to smoothly ferry glide and maintain river position

  • what a dweeb woo that was fun!

  • i dont know the diff, I only like 9 foot lobos and still learning. I perfer touring in lobos
