there is just not enough time for the professors to teach them the way I was taught in commercial arts. I have the self-assurance now to sit down at my computer and create logos in illustrator or posters in photoshop that I dont think I would have without Mrs. Diaz and the commercial arts polytech class. Thank you, Mrs. Diaz!!!!

I am now using the knowledge that I gained from her as a teacher and will be grateful for that for the rest of my life. I don’t think that I would have the confidence I have now if it wasnt for this class. The programs we learned and used in the class are so intimidating but the way we were taught at a steady pace made understanding them and learning to use them much easier and it left me confident in my abilities. I see so many people in my classes struggling now with the programs

@catgal222 The 18 college credits is an Articulation Agreement with the Art Institute of Philadelphia. If students receive an "A" or "B" in the class and have a good attendance record & portfolio they get 18 credits to attend Ai of Philly. Additionally, I have had students receive college credit and/or advanced standing from 4 year art schools throughout the country due to their portfolio and experience with software taught here.

@daisyflower10101 I agree with you whole-heatedly. This class misrepresents itself as a real art course. For those serious about going into the art world it is too easy and for those taking it for the hell of it (unfortunately a lot of kids do...) it is too hard. The '18 college credit' thing only works if you take both years of the course and choose to go to a less than decent art school. I like Ms. Diaz, but I wouldn't recommend this course to any underclassman

I can't really believe it's been TEN years since I met Teresa way back when Polytech was still in the back lot of North Hunterdon High.
I learned so much in Commercial Art, and was able to get a scholarship, go to an amazing program at the University of the Arts, and establish a successful art career working in the animation biz in Los Angeles. Mrs Diaz is an amazing person and an inspiring teacher! --Miranda

What an amazing inspiration you have been for my daughter! She went from a lost individual to someone with goals, excited about her future. Without your class, I doubt that she would have realized her talents. I still can not believe she had such talents. You expect your students to do their best and award them accordingly. Thank you so much, Teresa Diaz.
I have a child who has OCD and Mrs. Diaz has been wonderful. She researched how to deal with this disorder and has gone out of her way to ensure that our child was successful. When my child started out in Mrs. Diaz's class his drawings were not that good, but with her help and patience my child has greatly improved and has become more confident. We would just like to say thank you .

@51chocolates You're welcome and thank you for your comment. Many times students with disabilities succeed in my classes because they have a passion for the subject. At Polytech they are able to explore what interests them in a hands-on way.
