PLEASE NOTE: hearing a recording of the Shofar does not fulfill the obligation to hear the Shofar. That must be done in person. Please call the Shul to find out where and when to hear the Shofar and fulfill this important Mitzvah.

Thank you for viewing our films. We hope you enjoy them and learn from them. Please feel free to post comments or ask us questions. We will try to make a film addressing whatever questions you have about Torah Judaism or showing some aspect of Jewish life.

Also, visit us in person, or online at http://www.youngisraeloftampa.org.

  • SHANA TOVA!

  • @ZECHRAH Not making the walls of Jericho tremble with this one lol

  • @mcfrdmn I'm sure a sensible rabbi would understand that on account of one being physically handicapped, they would be exempt from standing during the holy shofar blowing. Just like on Yom Kippur, someone with illnesses who's bodies would suffer from the fast is exempt from fasting. I'm also quite sure G-d wouldn't mind too!

  • Can you explain how one can fulfill the mitzvah of listening to the blowing of the shofar in person, when one is physically handicapped, and is unable to stand in the synagogue during the blowing of the shofar.

I have been told that it is a sin to sit during the blowing of the shofar, and it is better to stay at home than to come to the synagogue & sit during the blowing of the shofar (The Arc of course is open), when one cannot stand because of a physical disability.

  • when I first heard a Shofar blown in person it was a real special moment for me.

  • I spoke to Rabbi Rivkin today and he told me that his Shul does have a Kudu Shofar .. I did offer my services to him as well as Shofars that i sell out of my Judaica.. Shalom Uvracha, Zach'Riah Tel: 786-314-2571

  • you are right, i apologize is just that i never seen such of shofar like that, i apologize................the Almighty shall provide a new shofar for this ministry within 6 months......

  • How do we know that he has the funds for a long well made shofar? It's kinda like how not all churches can afford a grand pipe organ. I wish all churches could, but money could be an issue. maybe money is an issue with shofars as well? They know they need one but can't afford the long showy ones so this little one has to do?
