Mass Stranding of Whales In Scotland (2)

As many as 50 Pilot Whales Massed in he Kyle of Durness, an inland sea lock many km distant from the open sea off the Far North Coast of Scotland, not far from Cape Wrath. Several Beached as rescuers attempted to herd them away from the sandbanks and beaches. Those that beached were not expected to survive. Later, as many as 30 more of the main pod beached, and their future is uncertain but grim at the moment
