CHARCOT-MARIE-TOOTH SYNDROME INFORMATION
Dr. John Raymond Baker, DC discusses Charcot Marie Tooth syndrome, the most common inherited neurological disease in the United States. It is a neurological syndrome, composed of different disorders that affects mainly the peripheral nerves. There are five types, CMT 1, CMT 2, CMT 3, CMT 4,
and CMTX. One of these types involves demyelinization , i.e. loss of the myelin sheath that provides an insulating feature for the nerve.
