Once you've hived your bees and have started a feeding regime I'd leave them alone for at least week, checking only to make sure they've got lots of sugar water. If you're using entrance reducers, I'd turn them to the smallest opening. Then after a week do a quick inspection to make sure the queen is laying and healthy.

HI, Ok, I just picked up a hive today of feral bees that a local bee removal person (beekeeper) sold to me. He said that it is best to start with a started hive, one that the bees have sort of gotten used to and then transport the whole thing (box & bees within) to my home in the morning and open their entrance ways when I get them home. I just brought it home today, so when should I inspect the hive? I notice some bees are dying around my yard.

you dont have to buy a new queen if she isnt producing the workers will have a new queen made and she will be killed when the new queen emerges
