@kilmer70 First of all, I'm also pianist, so I really know every details you can say about how tough can be life when you are a pianist. Then what do you think about all Horowitz pirate recordings made without his permission ? Most of them can be found on youtube, and they are not always showing a nice playing of him. Plenty of videos on youtube are recorded live and broadcasted without the agreement of the pianist.

And last of all, yes, I think I have to show this Mephisto because I don't think

he's retarded or taking drugs or just mad, and I think he's playing in a different way which shows many many interesting things. Look at the score, and check that everything he does is written.

For all of you who are complaining about this performance or prefer how he used to play - what a sad bunch of jerks you all are. 1st, he's suffered from huge health problems for most of his adult life. 2nd, after his wife passed away, he stopped playing altogether for several years. 3rd, he's Ivo, you're not, and he can play anyway he wishes. Life is full of change and mystery and joy and sorrow and you're just gonna have to live with it - or, give us all a break - and don't!

I've heard in some interviews, that he said himself he is a very profesional pianist, that works a lot and taht hios work is almost perfect if not perfect. This recording of the Liszt's Mephisto Waltz is terrible, how can a profesional plays with someone changing pages, is irrespectfully a performance reading notes, come one, this is not a conservatory presentation, the tempos where are they, you rash the sound, that is not tecnique, I prefer Pogorelich 20 yaers ago, sorry to see what you became
