We visit from the uk every year to the region and this is a must of you want to get local! This is just an awesome venue and is a must go for any real mountain music/bluegrass fan, long may you prosper.

I have recently been to Floyd Virginia (in april) and am in the area again. I am looking forward to going to the Jamboree every Friday night while I am in Virginia. There is a phenomenon here that cannot be duplicated anywhere else. I've never seen 4 generations on a dance floor as I've experienced at Floyd. The great part is, everyone has fun, and no one cares what color you are, what your economic status is, or even if you can dance! This is a MUST VISIT!!

It's so gentrified now. :-( I guess I shouldn't judge it until I get to come back to Floyd. I have some evry fond memories of the times I have spent at the Country Store.

I'm from nearby in NC originally and my family on my mother's side is from Rocky Mount. I have spent many hours in this region. My wife and I visit the Country Store in Floyd whenever we're up your way from Georgia and we eat at the Blue Ridge Cafe around the corner. Great tribute to the music and culture of the Crooked Road in Virginia. Great video.

Love that dancin. . .that's a Friday night. . .candy, ice-cream, music and dancin. . .and someone to put it all on video. . .too bad we can't see that person on the dance floor. : ) Looks like a lot of fun!
