Ableton Live Tutorial - This tutorial shows how to split the frequencies of a sound and apply individual effects to each band. This technique can be used for, amongst other things, applying side chain compression to only the low frequencies or maintaining a mono sound in the low end whilst applying stereo width effects to the mid and high bands. Suitable for all varieties of EDM including deep house, tech house, progressive house, electro house, minimal, techno and trance. • Thanks for all the comments guys. If anyone wants to take their learning a little deeper check out our 1-2-1 based online or studio courses. They are all taught by an Ableton Certified trainer with personalised video feedback for your level and genre of choice. There are also 11 hours of tutorials like this one :-)

  • Is there a reason you use the multiband dynamics effect as opposed to simply an eq3?

  • @djstory Yes :-), the cross over points are already set up very nicely in the multiband dynamics and also the EQ3 heavily colours the sound and this is not always desirable.

  • sick tutorial man!!!!!!! gonna subscribe now!!!!!!!

  • @PRISMBEATS Thank you :-) There are some videos on their way shortly.

  • @QuantizeCourses Thanks! The crossover points can be moved in EQ3 easily as well, right? What would be the colorization like with the EQ3's?

  • Thanks for this... What is the benefit of using the 3 Multibands versus 3 EQ3's, clicking away the Low/Mid/Highs?
