My great grandmothers uncle spoke to a man who had a cousin that saw an Irishman once...That makes me an Irish Englishman I suppose...using the American definition of Irish American.

What about Red Indians? I have yet to see a Running Bear McCluskey or a White Antelope O'Brien.

Good old George Wahington. Were I around at that time I would have fought for him and thank God the Americans gained their rightful independance..Irony..where would the Brits have been in 20th century without them..
-
This sounds like George W.

truth be told there was no 'wave of celts' that came swarming over to ireland as the 'great and powerful germanic' strength drove them from their homeland. i'd imagine a scenario where both celt and saxon intermingled, is more likely. not saying of course that the saxons weren't what the normans were to become of course, i.e. the dominating class.

That was my mistake calling the Scots "Scotch" as in the whiskey. The Irish Americans are as a rule a very vocal minority. I would say that Americans of German ancestry are better integrated with the possible exceptions of some pockets of them that have retained more of their roots such as the Pennsylvania "Dutch" (actually Pennsylvanians of Germans ancestry).

Probably true..didn't know that..so who is Patron Saint of Germany and when will there be his big Parade in New York... Incidentally..never ever call a Jock (thats our jock..not sports bloke) "SCOTCH". The word is SCOTS.....SCOTCH ..is Whisky and Scots get offended when Scotch is used. Just a small point..

Great video and well-chosen background music (I guess you're a Steve Earle fan!)
Well done.

Thank you.
I've never heard of Steve Earle: I found the song by chance on some Civil War website.
