The frames of this animation were drawn on the back of paper grocery bags using pen and colored ink. All the frames were individually torn from the paper and arranged chronologically to form a meandering line across flora, cement, water, trash, and construction materials. The resulting sequence was photographed from start to finish, producing the completed animation.

Based on a performance of "Last Tree Standing" by Ben Worcester of Said the Whale.
This video was created under a high-traffic bridge along the Mississippi River where people often fish and drink beer.
