2008 Scion xB Exhaust Part 2

After removing the resonator I wasn't thrilled with the weed wacker sound, so I added a Short Ram intake and swapped out the muffler. The car has a deeper tone now, but it still needs an icepack to be added to help quiet it down a little.

how was the sound with the intake only? did it affect the exhaust sound sans resonator?

With the resonator removed the exhaust sounded pretty dumb, and adding the intake made it a little more deeper at lower rpm's between 2-3K, but once you got over 3K the exhaust sounded like crap. The muffler really helped deepin it up and sound nicer.

If you're going to do anything, get the intake and maybe a muffler, but leave the resonator in. Sounds better and not as loud inside the car either.

hey i am thinking of removeing the resinator on my xb, i have a trd muffler on it, will it sound like a weedwacker if i do it?

sup man i like the sound...i have the CXRacing full exhaust on my box but its a 3 inch pipe so the pipe hangs down low...i just bought the KSport coilovers that will bring the car down about 4 inches and i need to get my exhaust worked on..i was thinkin about leaving the highflow cat on it and all the rest of the exhaust just straight 3 inch pip no muffler..what do u think?

It sounds rumbly when idling, and under load it sounds pretty good, but it's louder than heck and really annoying when driving with cruise control on the inter-state highways.

hi there in your first video all you did was remove the resanator(how many)and you just had the intake thats it..it made that sound..to be honest i like that sound..im thinking of getting and xb..
