1. Snorkelling in Mauritius - Flic en Flac - 2009-05-17

Testing out my new Olympus Tough 8000... It's 12MP and I have to say that my 8MP Canon takes much better pictures than the tough but it doesn't go underwater! It's not what I will call decent movies but that's it...

This was my first trial underwater... I haven't had any underwater modes on so the camera doesn't compensate for red colour loss... I'll have to wait for the next trip to the sea for that...

Hey man! I went back to flic en flac this year.. most of the coral seems to have gone, someone said pollution and rising sea temperatures was to blame, someone else said the fisherman were using explosives.. the weird thing was I found that there were many more species of fish this time. was there for 5 weeks snorkeling nearly every day. Love that island so much! all the best

@reshad1: Hello again reshad1, True, a big portion of the corals' gone... but there is still quite a big bunch of it behind the small "no swim zone" on the shore, if you see what I refer to... It's the first time i hear of explosives though... It is hard to believe, but then again I only go to the sea once a month or so and might not have heard of it... my best bet would be on the rising temperature level cause it's the same situation in blue bay :-( Btw... been there swam in the same area,flic en flac beach, and i remember there was a tiny little fish that used to attack us hahahaha it was so funny cause we were all scared of it thinking that it may be poisoned or something...but it was soooo small little tiny fish lol

aahhh! i've been waiting for a vid like this for soooo long.. sorry i'm resh :) from the uk, whenever we go back to flic en flac the first thing i do is grab my snorkel and go swimming arounf this sweet little reef, i miss it so much!!, thanks for posting this mate, defo made me smile lol!!
