Homefront 2 To Be Developed By Crytek

Welcome back to Clevver Games everyone, I'm your host Andrea Rene here with a game announcement from THQ. The publisher revealed today that they will be creating a sequel to their military first person shooter, Homefront. Set in the future after a North Korean invasion of the U.S. Homefront had mixed reviews when it launced.

Many praised the game for its storytelling but others found fault with its mechanics. Former developer Kaos Studios was shut down earlier this year so THQ has passed development off to the seasoned vets at Crytek. Known for developing the Cry Engine and for games like Far Cry and Crysis, Crytek has put their stamp on the FPS genre.

THQ is hoping Crytek will deliver the Triple A experience fans were hoping to get with the original Homefront. Crytek's CEO said, "We believe that bringing out level of quality, creativity, and production values to the next Homefront title creates an opportunity for both THQ and Crytek to deliver a truly blockbuster game. It's really important to us that THQ has the faith in giving us a lot of creaitve freedom over one of its most important properties to allow us ot bring hte HOemfront world to life in a new and innovative way."

Development is underway on the untitle sequel and you can get expect a release date sometime in THQ's 2014 fiscal year on PC and on consoles. What do you guys think? Did you like Homefront? the biggest thing i loved about homefront was the bp system. some of the rewards were a bit overpowered but it was actually rewarding to get them and possible for everyone. unlike cod where you have to get a high killstreak to get the high reward. i think it was an all around game for everyone which leaves everyone a little disappointed. looking forward to homefront 2 though.

@chriopez deranked online yea it sucks hapend to me once i emailed them and avoided playing for a bit hoping to here that theyd fix it but gave up, now im only anoid by how wen you get past a certin lv online i get stuck in matches filled with campers

I loved homefront but it's graphics were a bit bad and I got deranked like 4 times. I hope they learn from their mistakes and make an awesome sequel
