Ducati didn't, Motorcyclist said that it was a GS-killer. Ducati builds sportbikes, they're not trying to compete with enduros, they just want to give capable riders the option to hit fire trails, two-track and a little single track. They're trying to redefine what an adventure bike is; a bike that's capable of doing many things.
If you're looking for a better off-road bike than your GS, get and KTM 990 adventure R; WAY easier to ride in single-track than a GS.
Didn't they advertise this as a GS killer? Why don't they correct their advertisments? If they have please post where!
The bike is nothing more than a standard touring bike. Too bad because I would have bought one if they designed it more for off-road.
I'm not a BMW fan, but I own a 1200GS and I have to say the bike does work! Off road and on. Again, I would have bought this bike if it were more off-road oriented.
You guys are designers? A bike for every road including off-road? GS killer? What a joke. You run the exhaust under the engine? The skid plate is nothing but a band aid, I would smash the exhaust 5 minutes off-road!
On your Monster you run the exhaust up high... the way it should be on this bike! Get a clue Ducati! Hire designers that actually ride motorcycles off-road!

Since the original video came out, Ducati has admitted that the bike's "offroad" capability is actually for "non-paved" roads, not true offroads.
