An informative video made by Elementary Education students. Shows what it looks like when teachers implement Vygotskian principles in their teaching...and what happens when they ignore them!

  • lol if you give a letter so many different sounds, sounds that you hear with other letters, for example a c in some words makes a ssss sound, ssss is what an s sounds like, c also sounds like ka, or in the word child has a cha sound. If we spell circus like this, "sirkus" the child knowing s makes a ssssss sound and k makes a ka sound would be able to read the word correctly the first time even though it is apparently spelled wrong... maybe the written language has some faults?

  • =D Very Good! Congratulations i liked very much!! Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • Love it. Thanks.

  • The only difference between the 3 lessons is that in the third lesson the 'actors' are pretending to be enthusiastic. It was especially depressing to see pre-service teachers talking about "strategies." Vygotsky would never stop puking in his borscht if he saw this.

  • Good job using Vygotsky's theory to teach us his theory by taking it step by step. A lot of these informational videos forget that we aren't advanced in these subjects we want to learn about.

  • This is freaking hilarious. You guys talk like you have down syndrome. No wonder people are so dumb.

  • Dont you want me BABY ..lol nice song choice

  • But assuming this to be true, it won't work in modern schools since people of all different abilities and knowledge levels are in the same class.

  • Using humor the Vygotsky(V) teaching methods become clear in this video. V's work reminds me of that of the work of Mihály Csíkszentmihályi (MC) and his known book, "Flow". MC's Flow state = the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity.

  • Awesome video ladys =)

I am in the equivalent education degree here in new zealand and this has given me a better understanding about vygotski rather then reading the educational psychology book
