I read somewhere that Beethoven was left-handed. So, this is for him.

  • This was very inspiring to watch watch Rachel. I am just starting out in cello and keep getting discouraged because as a left-hander playing the cello right handed is very uncomfortable and awkward. seeing this video gives me more hope that I can learn to play the way that feels natural to me which is left-handed... : ] You are a beautiful and highly talented cellist.

  • I hate all the garbage that us left handers get. No matter how good you are, if you play a bowed instrument left handed the chances are stupidly slim of getting into an orchestra because 'all the bows must face the same way'. This was beautiful.

  • I have been playing left-handed cello for over four years now, and I've have played in symphony orchestras with no problem at all! Glad to know there are more left-handed cellists out there =]

  • @RachelloMac

i also play the cello lefthanded.. first i played 'normal' but i changed and it feels better.. goodluck to you!:)

  • POWER LEFT HANDED ;0)

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  • It must be uncomfortable in an orchestra ^^.

  • very nice performance of this Beethoven movement. I've taught several players who like to play with the bow in the left hand and the violin or cello held with the right hand. I enjoyed the variety. best of luck to you!
