Animatronic gorilla mask

www.daniele-tirinnanzi.com. This is a video of my graduation project at Make-up Designory school in Los Angeles in 1999. It is a radio controlled mask, foam latex skin on fiberglass underskull with 9 servos for movement. 2 transmitters and receivers were used.

P.S. (Added Februrary 20th 2009). I'm working on a new animatronic gorilla mask which is almost finished. The quality of the new one is not comparable with this one, ten years of experience make a huge difference. I'll post the video as soon as it's ready.

What do you mean fix the expressions? it's being puppeteered in real time with radio control. It's just a test shoot. Anyway it's not meant to be realistic, it's a project I did as a student when I was 19 years old to learn basic animatronics. Go bug somewhere else.
