Crosswind take-off and landing demo in FSX-=Turn up Volume=-

Crosswind take-off and landing demo using the RealAir SF-260 in FSX. I'm operating out of KOAK, on runway 29, wind was reporting 210 at 20 knots gusting to 29knots for a stiff crosswind. This video demonstrates the transition from the crabbed approach to the side slip, or "wing-low method" of landing as employed when conditions warrant.

How do you like this 260 compared to say....a piper cherokee, or the carenardo skywagon 185?

The flight physics of the RealAir SF-260 are better than any of the offerings from Carenado that I have used. I have not flown the Carenado C-185, but have their C182RG, 182, and a Cherokee.

From a visual perspective, Carenado tends to use more photoreal looking cockpits, while RealAir does 3D renders - in some ways the photoreal panel looks better, in other ways the 3D does (such as shadowing). . .but you can see how it looks in screenshots so take your pick there.

Is this plane a high hp performance machine for aerobatics?

The Sf-260 can do aerobatics in much the same ways that a fighter can. . .large figures with high entry speeds etc. It is no match for a dedicated aerobatic mount, but then it also can fly cross country as well as a Beech Bonanza. . .just with fewer passengers/baggage.

Its a game? Yes, but in payware there might be a difference with the aircraft...so, I guess that means to most it doesnt matter, just a game? ok.
