"Embarrassed Fox News executives and shocked viewers from coast to coast were horrified Friday when the network aired an Arizona carjacker's suicide on live television. The stunning feed of the fleeing suspect putting a gun to his head and pulling the trigger aired at 3:31 p.m., with anchor Shepard Smith caught cringing before the coverage ended — seconds too late. "Get off, get off, get off," said a clearly distraught Smith, his voice rising as the man's deadly intent became clear. "Get off it! Get off it! Get off it!" The network blamed human error for the gruesome gaffe, with one source indicating a Fox producer was slow to cut away from live coverage of what started as a high-speed police chase. The unidentified man was pronounced dead in the Arizona outback shortly after Fox viewers watched the mortally wounded suspect fall face-first to the ground. Fox News veteran Smith, after the network abruptly cut to commercial, returned to the air with a lengthy apology for the fatal fiasco...".* Ana Kasparian, Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, Jesus Godoy discuss on The Young Turks.

What I love about TYT is that you can hear a debate between people in the same room who have completely different views on a situation but debating and discussing their thoughts and opinions without arguing. It feels even better when you can partially agree with multiple opinions.

People like to watch programming that is directed at their intelligence level (sorry I had to take that shot at Fox, even though I think Shep Smith is the one personality on there who is worth watching)

There's no delay, I've worked in TV, it's simply just a button. The director of the broadcast in the studio/bay room can simply just click a button to change the target picture. Might've been a simple mistake... honestly, WE'VE ALL SEEN IT. It's getting real old.

Seeing the reality is not pretty so they censor it so that it doesn't bring us down. Seeing people die is just a downer, so it's much easier and more comfortable for society to just hear about it instead of witnessing it. That way we have time to make pretty coffins, make bodies look presentable and come up with stories to comfort ourselves with.

Ben Mankiewicz sounds foolish, the family perspective is much more important, I can see this and forget about it, the family cant

who are they to decide what we get to see, seeing this suicide is not an issue, there is no need to apologize

....Or they could just say, we're not going to show it, but it'll probably be in the suggestion bar on the right "if" you want to see it.

And you watch what? John Stewart for your news? CNN? NBC? And somebody convinced you that this is what "intellectuals" watch so you never miss a chance to say Fox News is somehow for the dumb people? Hilarious. What you, and mediocre minds like yours, don't understand is that the reason you think Fix is so "biased" is because you have been very deftly propagandized by imbeciles like Chris Matthews for so long. Don't fret; you're not that bright.

So what. I'm tired of adults having our rights taken away regarding whether we watch something or not. in the sixties we used to eat dinner while watching all the carnage from Vietnam. Nobody was harmed by it. And nobody was making decisions over what we watched or not.

then in that logic maybe the United states government should have showed the pictures of osama bin laden's death body, because that was news too, big news, but no. the government treated us like children and did not showed us the pictures because they we're ''too gruesome''. you're a mess up person.
