@madstaringeyes77 U mean ppl like Locke, Montesquieu, and Blackstone? U should read more into Locke, he was a theologian. He wrote many books on Christianity. If u read his Two Treaties on Government, there are over 1,500 Bible references in them. Even guys like Blackstone derived their views from Christianity. Read his Commentaries on the Laws and they are very evangelical. But even if u were to take all of the enlightenment guys, the Bible was still THE most quoted source by the founders, 34%.

The US is a constitutional secular republic and France is a constitutional secular republic.
The US constitution was founded on the principles of the secular enlightnment rather than christianity.
This is not up for debate, it is a well accepted historical fact. Do your homework.

@madstaringeyes77 To say that these men were not at all influenced by their faith is a fallacy. Most of these men were devout Christians. Christianity, going back to Columbus and even the Pilgrims had tremendous influence in the making of America.
Their is a tremendous difference between France and the U.S.'s constitution. France has a quazi-socialist govt and the U.S. has a constitutional-republic. France and the U.S. are nothing alike.

"Is it to show that the founders were anti-religious? "
More simply and truly put, they were nearly all off them 'men of their time' which was the enlightenment which was a time that was characterized by scientific enquiry over faith and secularism.
Secularism being the more important point. The USA's constitution has more in common with that of France than the UK.

This is specifically addressed to the author of the video,
What is the point of this video? Is it to show that the founders were anti-religious? Because if it is, u did not prove anything. I have a lot of videos that would disprove that if that if that were the case.

@jedijoe1976 And since you cannot possibly examine and verify that every pebble on every beach on the entire planet is not the egg of an alien parasite, this makes my assertion that there are billions of such parasites waiting to hatch and possess our bodies true.
Such is the logic of your argument.

Awesome video!

@xAdam05x trying to get rid of christians through propaganda, as long as it is not compulsory (and atching youtube isnt) cannot be considered intolerance by any sane person
-
Lincoln not a Founding Father - John Adams was the man who suggested to the Constitutional Convention after months of arguing to go to Church together and they all did - 3 days later we had a Constitution. Thomas Jefferson while President of the US, had the House of Representatives on Sundays used as a Church with a non-denominational Christian Pastor presiding as and he attended .... Benjamin Franklin was Baptized and continued to attend Anglican Christ Church in Philadelphia his entire life.

I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the Doctrines of Jesus ... Thomas Jefferson - to Charles Thomson January 9th, 1816

It seems to me that you have a personal vendetta for organized religion, and specifically Christianity. How do you think that the founding fathers support you in your mission to rid the world of Christianity? Not only is it common knowledge, because it is in the Constitution, but you used quotes in this video showing that the founding fathers were very much for freedom of religion, not try to get rid of religion. Toleration for non believers and believers alike. Good try though.

I am not trying to be intolerant or rid the nation of christianity, i am only showing those people that think the US was founded as a christian nation (and i didnt say by non-christians) that it was founded as a secular nation with the freedom to choose.

Christ established one "church" all the rest are denominations that piss and quibble. Belief in God is not a religion, but a faith.
Plus, the paradox of atheist: To say there is no God you must be able to be everywhere. Cause if you are in one place who is to say God isnt in another, so you must be omni-present...and to be omni-present you must be a God, a god which you dont believe in.
Christs Kingdom is of the heart and not of this world.

But the burden of proof is not on the non-believer. That is like me asking you to prove that an invisible pink unicorn is not in my closet. The bruden of proof is on you. There is no way to dis-prove god...which isn't in itself proof.
