-Guitar
strat, add some Texas Special pickups, Solid Alder Body, Rosewood neck
-Amps
Either- Fender Hotrod Deluxe, Fender blues jr., (replace speakers with celestion vintage 30's on fenders)
-Playing style
Use a heavier pick about 1 mm and really dig deep and beat the shit outta ur strings when u play. u want to let your dynamics break up the sound a bit so it sounds almost distorted.
-settings
highest to lowest Bass Trem Mid. A bit of reverb and presence at about 1/2 to 3/4 even more
-
wow you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, this is a cover. And a really, really good one too.

John Mayer trips me out..He does take his instrument seriously i guess i gotta give him that..For a pop artist he's got the right influences"well the blues anyway" and then theres Hendrix!..Not to mention he gets so much pussy..He's definitely doing something right! For a preppy guy he trips me out!

wow your mentally retarded hendrix is the guy that made this song great mayer even used the basics of the solo that hendrix did
-
It's a cover of Hendrix you turd
-
maybe, he thinks that john mayer is coverign the song, and thats why it says cover. read the discription: John Mayer pics with his cover of "Bold as Love" playing in the background
he obviously believes this is a COVER done by john mayer.

this isn't a cover, this is john mayer himself playing it. cheat.
qwerty, he means john mayer is covering the jimi hendrix version. he wasnt saying that he did this version, he wasnt trying to cheat or anything.

As the "owner" of this video( who is female and not male haha), Skins is right. I never said that John is a cheat, he's just playing a song that Jimi Hendrix once played and is playing it to pay tribute to how great Hendrix was when he was alive. Plain and simple that's what it is. Jimi is one of John's idols and he wants to honor his memory. That's it. If anyone has a problem with with that, get over it.
