Unit: Three
Level: Water Treatment Plant
Secrets: Seven
Difficulty: Hard

Now here's something with a bit more originality; a Water Treatment Plant. Although, I use the name loosely as to be honest, it's basically a level that consists of a large building next to a large volume of water with the addition of being able to swim up some pipes and the like. Oh, and crates, can't forget about the giant room with crates! Meanwhile, the search for that elusive Airstrike Marker goes on...

RAGE! By now, my ire for Laser Guards in high places has been well established but this level takes that pet hate of mine and ramps it up a notch. Not only does it take the piss out of me in that context but it decides to pile in other sorts of Strogg at the same time to make my main goal of taking down those bastards even more of a chore!

And just to tease me of their kidnapping of said Airstrike Marker, the Gekks make their cameo appearance in this level by flying in from the outskirts into the facility to give me even more of a hard time. Supposedly, it's to try and frighten me off my attempts of uncovering their lair. Or perhaps they were going for a jolly nice swim in the murky waters.

Or maybe, just maybe, they were trying to kill me. I 'unno, call it a hunch, but it definitely feels like they were trying to kill me...

Also, yes because I'm an idiot, I had to go back and acquire the last Secret after taking until the end of the level to realise that I missed it!

---------------------------------------

Secret One: 0:38 - 0:49. From the entrance to the level, head left onto the ledge where the Guards appear from. Follow this around until you see some very small steps jutting out from the cliff wall. Use the steps to jump up to the Secret area where you'll find an ION Ripper and some Cells.

Secret Two: 4:03 - 4:23. In the room with LOADS of crates, jump to the crate jutting out opposite the crates with the Railgun on top. Destroy the explosive crate on the opposite side and then jump across. Whilst here, you can jump back and forth between the opposite crates in order to reach the Railgun. Jump back to the red crate and then aim for the crate slightly jutting out from underneath the red crate. Carefully walk around and jump on the remaining crates to reach the Secret Quad Damage. Christ, that was hard to type out!

Secret Three: 5:03 - 5:13. When you reach the area with the adjacent walkway to the two floodgates (i.e. the outside part after the LOADSA crates area), jump into the water and swim to the left of the floodgate that's on your right when you enter this area. There's a Secret Adrenaline in the water.

Secret Four: 6:20 - 6:42 & 7:03 - 7:48. After pressing the switch to open the primary flood gates, jump into the water and blast away the grill on the left drain pipe. Swim up into it and about halfway along, activate your Rebreather. At the end of the pipe is an area with a Secret Ammo Pack. Surface and you'll find some more Health and Armor Shards plus a switch to open a door that was inaccessible from the other side beforehand. Climb the ladder to access the roof. At the far end of one part of the roof is an Adrenaline whilst at the other is a Power Shield and some Cells. Position yourself correctly in order to drop off the roof onto a pile of crates to receive a Megahealth. Phew, that was a hell of an adventure, wasn't it?

Secret Five: 6:42 - 7:05. From the area with the Secret Ammo Pack, swim up into the next pipe and at the end is a Secret Invulnerability power-up. Time this journey wisely as you can lose a lot of health if you don't have a Rebreather activated.

Secret Six: 9:43 - 9:54. Near the exit, there is a grate that can be blown open to swim through. At the end of the pipe is some Secret Body Armor.

Secret Seven: 10:29 - 11:06. In the same area as the Secret Quad Damage, behind a pile of crates is a switch and power conduit that need to be both shot in order to enable the 'Maintenance Hatch Override.' Repeat the same mantra as at the start of Secret Two and jump to the crate where the Railgun was. From here, you can make a running jump to the ladder that has extended down from the ceiling. Climb the ladder and follow the corridor around to a Secret area where some Body Armor resides.

  • I insist you say HOOP! when you jump.

  • @Votapardo From this moment on, I shall do just that! The "HARP!" thing was getting a bit old admittedly.
