This is the buildup process of the AMT 1975 Chevrolet Blazer K5. It may have said "Snaptite" on the box, but it was still an involved build. It was more than what I expected too, as those lights and decals do not appear on the box!

Oh yes, the "Abandoned" Chevrolet Nomad and Mercury Cougar depicted in the vid have developed into complete cars - a vid of both vehicles will be up in due course.

Soundtrack is Whitesnake - "Ready and Willing" (1980)

  • is this a 1/24 scale model?

  • @RCtraxxassummit - Actually 1:25 but the two scales are just about the same!

  • Hello, I have a few q's for you about that model.

Why do you paint it orange inside prior to paint it black?

Is this a reissue model? I read it is a 2006 reissue, but I cant see it in online shops that easy. I need one of this for kitbashing.

  • Ah - the 'Orange' is red oxide primer (otherwise the plastic would react badly with the paint if it were applied directly). Yep, in spite of the modern box-art, this one's a reissue, actually being only a 'Easy skill level 1 kit' - I was pleased though to see that the transfers were decals, not stickers.

  • Very good! I don't generally build cars, other than armoured ones... but I always appreciate a nice model!! :) :)

  • Thankyou! I see you've done plenty good ones yourself...
