@bigkm5 My backing was 12lbs mono and my leader was 20lbs fluorocarbon. We caught her on a regular old perch pattern spoon without anything for bait.

What lake was this on? I live in Montana and have been waiting forever to go ice fishing this year. It's been ridiculously warm this year.

@holdingtravisstreets Sorry man, can't say where. Yeah it's been way too warm in MT lately. Sounds like you might be on the eastern side of the state tho and most ice around there is toast right now. Hopefully Ft. Peck freezes soon.

There is no way a 42 1/2" Pike weighed 28 pounds. It's a seriously fat fish but it's to short to make 28 pounds. You might want to get a better scale. Very nice fish though.

@fishinwflies It's legitimately 28 lbs on the dot... I weighed it multiple times on 3 different scales ( 2 of which were at an Albertsons grocery store on their meat department scales) so if those were wrong I'm gonna start buying my beef there ;) ... My hand held scale read 28 as well which I bought that afternoon. Look at the other slideshow you can click on towards the end of this video so you can see us holding her and get a better comparison.
