Let's Play Zak McKracken part 1: nightmare on 13th avenue

Zak begins the game with a fresh assignment and a strange dream. Pretty soon, he'll have a little more to worry about than two-headed squirrels and UFO sighting anniversaries.

I forgot to mention why I'm using ScummVM for this one. It adds features to this game that became standard in later Lucasfilm/LucasArts games, such as clearing a dialogue line with the period key. In Dosbox, I'd be at the mercy of the text speed.

I had this for C64. It came with a real tabloid newpaper. SCUMM games were quite horrible on C64, because you had to use a joystick, so I didn't finish this game until I got it for the Amiga.

I still have the newspaper, I probably should have mentioned which puzzle solutions are hinted at in there but I didn't.

I also didn't have a mouse when I first got this game, and I didn't figure out the keyboard shortcuts for a while, so I was dragging the cursor all over the screen with the arrow keys. Yikes!

I love lucas arts games they were so great dont make them like this anymore

There are many references to this game in that other lucasarts game at the time: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

I live in Taiwan and here LP is short for 'Lan Pa' which is slang for penis. I always laugh when I see people type LP but nobody else would get it.

Just replace LP with dick, just sounds funny! lol
