I passed Kevin and Elen and just kept going until I passed Nick's room. Him and Kevin
seemed to come in simultaneously, one with an apologetic look on his face, the other
excited.
Nick started to open his mouth to ask how great it will be to go to other countries and
play our music but Kevin knew better so he pushed him out with mutterings of "Go keep Elen company. We'll be down in a bit."
We sat on the floor in my room completely silent for a bit before he spoke.
"So, what are you gonna do?"
I looked up at him with a completely emotionless face.
"I don't know. Kevin, I can't leave now. Not yet."
"I know, we'll think of something. We're gonna have to go, mom and dad already said
yes."
We sat quiet again before he stood up and patted my shoulder.
"I'll tell her you aren't feeling well."
I didn't respond, but I figured he knew what I would say.
About ten minutes later I heard the front door shut and footsteps coming back towards
my room.
I crawled into bed and under the covers, hiding my face as Nick and Kevin walked by.
Kevin absent mindedly shut my door on their way past because not a few minutes later, mom and dad walked past and only continued past my room because they figured I was
asleep. That was, until about a half hour later when everyone else was asleep but me
and mom and she crept softly back down the hall and into my room.
"I know what's bothering you honey."
