  • That would have incurred the wrath of the state. They would have all been put in jail. The precedent would have been far too dangerous.

  • That I can't answer. Perhaps the close relationship between union and labour party had something to do with it.

    Total are a french company, did you notice Brown and Sarkozy this week like best friends, 2 + 2.

  • No the employers at first sacked those who took part in a wild cat strike. But the support for the sacked workers began to snowball. Within about two weeks the employer backed down and reinstated them all.

  • did the workers assume management?
