Maybe our government shouldn't have thrown smokers out of buildings, and then not even provide a proper ashtray. Everyone just blames the smokers, what if we blamed the blacks? Same exact concept, it's discrimination both ways, but somehow it's okay to hate a smoker, but not a black.

@Dustin8000 Here in Washington, it's considered "an incendiary device". Tossing a lit cigarette out of a vehicle is now a $1025. fine.

Governments wold wide should legislate to have the tobacco industry own their problem and solve it by redesigning the cigarette packet so it contains a fire proof foil compartment that unfolds to accept the butts.
A packet full of butts is more easily disposed of.
Change the smokers habits. Don't penalize them

We're living in a civilized community so be civilized & civic minded. Littering is selfish. 1 of those may seem harmless but in many countries (including mine) millions smokers litter every single day which adds up to pollute/contaminate our water supply, causes visual pollution and block the drainage system.

I just don't understand why smokers always want to litter cigarette ends out of windows. Can't they just buy ashtrays (not that expensive) and use it in their cars and throw those away in bins later? And what are build in ashtrays in cars for? Decoration?

A lit cigarette is considered an incendiary device. Ever stop to think how many fires are started this way? Or how all those butts add up to an awful mess? Just because you have been getting away with littering for so long is no excuse to litter. Pretty easy to figure out, btw.
