After early interest from John Peel and a release on Fierce Panda Records 75 compilation 'From Greer to Eternity' named 'I feel', Solar Race in 1995 released 'Not Here' single on Silvertone Records followed by a four track 'Solar Race EP'. then "The Peel Sessions Bar 2" put together from two of their Peel Sessions at Maidavaile.

'Resillient Little Muscle' was released in 1996 recorded with John Fryer. The Album 'Homespun' was released in 1997, recorded at Abbey Road with Steve Albini, 'Lee Speaks' being their released track. Fierce Panda Records released another CD Album Compilation with the track 'Skewiff'.

Solar Race were known as a powerful live act. They were invited to support Hole in England. Then toured with Bush in 1997 playing to large audiences around Europe. France was a popular stopping place for Solar Race, at festivals and live recordings for French Radio.

Shellac, Steve Albini's band gave "good association" and both played date in England together. Considering Solar Races obscurity and musical intent, independant of the Manchester music scene at the time they achieved surprising success and support from decerning music listeners and notable figures around. If you ever saw them live you were unlikely to forget them. A powerful trio with vocals that would wake the coldest of souls.
