sorry for delayed response, it's Blu-ray. It gets the streaming content through the BD-Live feature which lets Blu-ray discs hook up with whatever online services and obtain "live" content.

is it possible to enable subtitles?

Not that i've seen yet. Hitting triangle will bring up the Disc menu, but if you try to hit "subtitles," nothing happens, and if you try to change subtitle style it says it's not an option.
