Video of me shooting my shotgun. The gun is a Mossberg 500 in 12 gauge with a 28-inch barrel and the Knoxx SpecOps stock. This isn't the first time I've shot it but its the first time I remembered the camera.

A note to anyone posting comments about my weight. I get these all the time and NEVER approve them. What you can do rather than post a comment is go here: http://www.mdausa.org/ then look around and maybe even find a way you can contribute to finding cures to Muscular Dystrophy.

  • @bigalexe how do you like you 500 I'm debating on 500 or 590a1 ?

    please help thanks !!

  • @thegodfather814: The difference between the 500 and 590a1 is the setup on it. If you want to hunt with it then definitely 500 is THE WAY to go. If you want to get a cheap reliable defensive gun then the 500 is THE WAY to go. If you want a gun that is expensive, looks cool and has exceedingly overbuilt parts for anything you would encounter as a civilian then by all means get the 590a1.

TL,DR: Get the 500 unless you happen to be a Navy Seal and are buying this your for work.

  • pay more for a mossberg stock don't get the cheap ones you'll regret it.....there's a reason why they're only $60

  • @raiderncpit This isn't the ATI Collapsible Stock you are probably thinking of, it's a recoil reducer.

  • @bigalexe yeah I cant remember why I commented on this..but I just bought this same stock for 90 from amazon (I think the store on there was optic warehouse or somethin like that) for my 535 and I actually felt the same or more recoil with it....I know they are great stocks but this one sucks ass....I think it might have been a returned one and someone messed with the spring...I felt a tone of shoulder recoil so I put more pressure on the pistol grip part and sprained my wrist with 3 1/2 00 buck

  • @raiderncpit: I am not sure exactly how you could sprain your wrist with this. Make sure you use the pistol grip to pull back into the shoulder. If you are trying to hold the pistol grip and absorb recoil with your arm in a shoulder mount position then yeah I can see that happening maybe. To me it just sounds like you aren't holding into the shoulder tight enough and the gun has room to pickup some speed and impact your shoulder in a way it shouldn't.

  • damn! i have this gun but i like what you did with the stock, got to say for a skinny guy you can handle that beast pretty well

  • @bigalexe there is also a spring in the stock part.....it seemed like that was the only part that was absorbing recoil..someone could have tried to make it softer for shooting low brass I'm sending it back and getting another one..it's like someone tightened the pistol grip spring and loostened the other one ....I also had a full choke in when I was shooting buck so...I might go try it one more time before I ssend it back

  • @fike301 If you are just shooting clays then the stock doesn't help all that much and it tries to punch you in the face. The bigger loads get more out of the spring.

  • I put the Knoxx stock on an 870 .....works great especially with the magnum loads. Im not sure would want it for busting clays?
