A great song (yes, song) by Philip Glass, to the texts of Allen Ginsberg. I love the music, but I resent most of the ideas of the words - so I tried to change their context by using my own choice of images.

Well, the main idea in this song in pacifism, which is nice when you are 16 y/o, but too naive for any practical purposes. Even in Philip Glass' Satyagraha, the first scene of the first act says something like "If you have to shoot, shoot - don't run away"

I think that's a very naive understanding of pacifism. On the surface I see your point. If you look at anything on the surface it is easy to dismiss. True pacifism is a way of being, without greed, without the need to act out in anger. One can perpetrate an act of violence from a truly tranquil center, but that takes years of meditative practice. Most violence is done in fear and ignorance.

@SaintSanic I do admit that mine is a shallow understanding of pacifism. It can be great in a pacifict world, but since I think that pacifict survival (on a large scale basis) in today's world is impossible, I tend not to go deeper into understanding. I do think that on an individualistic level, at some parts of the world, pacifict living is desirable. If you reached that stage, I can only envy you. But, when trying to extend the ideal to large scale politics, it's disasterous.
