  • Do you have any issues with the GT10 not putting out enough signal to adequately push the Special 6 amp, when you run into the FX return? I assume the volume control on the amp does not work when hooked in this manner. It seems different amps work different in this regard. I run my RP-500 into the FX return on my Peavey XXX head, and the volume control is still active.

  • @nickwarhead I run the volume on the GT10 at about 25% on the 3 watt setting on the amp. It's plenty loud since I mic the amp at rehearsal. If I need more volume, I run the amp at 6 watts. But still not more than 30% on the GT since it can overdrive the loop and distort. Pretty much only the wattage attenuator works on the amp when running into the loop.

  • hello setup vht+boss gt10 4 cable?

  • @ROBYRH4 The GT10 output is set to Combo Return. And I'm running from the mono output on the GT to the effects return on the VHT. That means the volume and the tone control on the VHT ore bypassed and don't function. Also running the VHT at half power so it's 3 watts. Does that answer your question? Or are you asking about my patches on the GT?

  • @MrDarinWarren I was thinking of getting this amp and bypassing the pre amp with the Guitar Rig programme, my question is if the master volume is disabled how do you control the volume of the power amp?

  • @foraquid Not sure about Guitar Rig. But, each patch has amp model level, as well as patch level. Plus, the pedal controls the output. So there really is 4 levels of volume control. Not quite sure if that answeres you question though. I have had a LOT of amps and pedals. The GT-10 isn't the perfect solutyion for everything. But it is usable, and with some serious time tweaking, you can get it to work well for you. Factory presets stink. Even someone elses patch may not work with your setup.
