Rules of the road - Peruvian style in Arequipa

I took this video from our hotel balcony. My travel companion was in bed sick and I had too much time to waste. I found this view down on to the street highly amusing. This is quite common and somehow it seems to work.

I apologise if any Peruvians have found this video to be offensive to their nationality. As you can see from my description of this video, it was not meant to offend, and in fact was meant to imply the opposite. I was amused by the fact that the system seems to work, and was different to what I am used to seeing in the UK. You'll also notice that I'm British, not American.

I live in Arequipa, and actually thats the way it is.. i love my city,  the bad thing is that the streets doesnt work for the quantity of ppl living now on the city, plus all the cars xD.. but the streets in the center of the city (downtown) are getting better thanks to the mayor now.

Still a beautifull city to know in Peru, and i hope u had a goot time here =]

I'm peruvian and not offended at all. Thanks for the video. Actually is quite funny. Is not as bad as it looks driving there, it's fun to drive there and everyone helps each other.

@juntojunto well i live in this city i dont know if in your contry the drivers just drive in a crazy way becouse the road is made for the car's but in arequipa the drivers know when to stop to let de poeple pass trough
