A "cloud" is just a buzzword, commercial hype to try make money on something "new", But its not even new! the term server has just been replaced with "cloud", your files aren't floating around using black magic, there just sat on a company's set of servers waiting for some happy hacker to come along and steal your favourite porn collection! if you want to use a cloud, get a bloody wireless portable hard drive and paint it white, connect it to a string from your ceiling.

@tbelwa actually some of them are business IT jargon.
Instead of having to buy a software and run it on your computer, a cloud basically allows you to use software on the cloud by paying for a fee or for free. You can then 'pull' this out of cloud to use whenever you need it. If i'm correct, the software runs on the company's (the one providing you the cloud service) servers and not yours. The data stored is also stored somewhere in the cloud
Too much marketing jargon, and still i do not know what is a cloud!!!!

Sure, it's all good as long as the cloud didn't get hacked or screw up. This kind of computing environment remind me of the movie TERMINATOR, where Skynet is the cloud. When Skynet went crazy, the whole world got waisted. I am skeptical regarding this type of system. When you mention government, it reminded me of communism, where one government controls all. Cloud computing would be the communist of all computer technology. Reminder: Anything that is made by men will not be perfect.
