What do you think about the current 3D film phenomenon?
Has a dream provided any inspiration?
What is the biggest change in cinematography in the last 40 years?
What elements of film as a medium are most important to you in creating an immersive sense of place?

I missed the once in a lifetime chance to see and hear David Lynch speak when he was in New Haven several years ago. Even if I don't believe in meditation I still thnk he has a lot of great information to impart and the creative process---rising above the medicre manner in which "directors' make film nowadays. The greatest films have layers and do not yield their secrets in a single viewing but in multiple and are multi-interpretational such as Eraserhead and 2001. I just wish he'd make more.
