NC State researchers want you to participate in a project to help us identify and understand all of the wild life that lives in our homes -- from bacteria to insects.

To see a trailer for the project, go to:

For why we made the trailer, go to:

Full transcript: So, what we want to do is to sample houses all over the U.S. and eventually around the world. And so what you can do if you're interested in being involved is you can sign up for the project at yourwildlife.org and once you sign up, we'll send you a kit. And with that kit you can sample different places around your house. You then seal the kit back up, send it back to us, and we'll use genetic techniques to see which species of fungus, bacteria, and even insects are living around you. And then the big picture thing we would like to do with those data once we get them is first to tell you what you live with, but then to look across North America and see how the changes in the ways that people live as they move to cities and change their lifestyles are influencing the species they live with. There's a growing sense of the changes we are making in how we live, our influence in our health and well-being, but what we don't know is how they're influencing the species that live with us.
