SW:TOR - AMD/ATI & Nvidia Increased Graphics Quality Tweak - This looks MUCH better

A simple little trick using msaa + LOD switch to get a little more out of the graphics in swtor. Im 100% sure nvidia has a way to do this too so if someone with a nvidia card wants to post a how-to here or even make a video (il link it to mine) on how to do it that would be awesome.

Considering this has almost no effect on framerate I cant see why anyone would not do this. For a 1fps loss there is really no reason not to change lod, better quality is better quality despite how u get it. Im also trying to mess with a fxaa injector (bf3's in particular) which might yield some interesting results. Until then, enjoy

**For Nvidia: nvidia its easy to do open nvidia inspector and go to your star wars the old republic profile
Texture Filtering Negative LOD Bias- make sure this say allow
right above that is an option that says Texture Filtering LOD bias(DX9)- here you can change from 3 to -3 just like in the video
there's no mipmap slider for nvidia but you can change the texture filtering to high quality here as well..

Doesn't work for me, every time I open the game, either from the icon or thought Radeon Pro it doesn't work. Pro does give me the "No" Sign in my task bar.

@DSLDARTH Your doing something wrong. Dont launch the game through radeon pro, just leave it in the background and launch normally

This works but I think the game looks uglier with in some places like imperial fleet and static buildings. Gives you rough edges that needs to get toned down with more AA. But that starts taking a lot of GPU performance when playing with eyefinity.

@Marcus8958 I bet, im using -2.4 lod with x2 or x4msaa and im getting mostly 60+ fps still, 30-40 on the fleet. But with such a high resolution a eyefinity I can see u getting into the teens for sure. Time to go get a 7970 :D

Nevermind, seems it may be due to having 12.1 ATI drivers, i'll give it a better look and change to the 11.9 cap4 if need be.

@Ckererec 11.9 driver with 11.9 cap4 profile. dont use cap4 11.9 with the 12.1 drivers

you should also show off for example the streets of dromund kaas with this enabled as they get very nice reflections
